Chapter 73.3: Who is Scheming Against Who

And Mu Yuwen seemed to have just noticed her. He stared at her for a moment before realizing that she was Mu Wushuang, never expecting that she would have slimmed down so much, looking more than a hundred times better than she did before. But so what? Mu Wushuang still carried some baby fat on her face and her figure was not slender and svelte like the most beautiful ladies around. She was still a far cry from his own two sisters in terms of looks.

Mu Yuwen knitted his brows and said: “Third Sis, where are we supposed to bring it to if not the Hou Manor? We’d better carry all this gold back home quickly before someone gets any funny ideas.”

Upon saying that, he turned towards the servants and admonished: “Why are all of you standing there in a daze? Hurry up and bring these all back to the Hou Manor!”

To prevent any hiccups, Mother said that it was best to bring everything straight into the storage vault. As the second branch family were holding the key, they would be the ones deciding how the money would be used.

The Second Prince heaved a sigh of relief inside.

And then heard Mu Wushuang say: “Wait. Sang Lan, give all our big brawny guys a hundred gold taels each as payment for their wages.”

“A hundred gold taels! ?” Mu Yuwen gasped in astonishment and exclaimed in a loud voice. “Third Sis, have you lost your mind? They merely chanted loudly a few times here for a while and a silver tael each will already be way more than enough payment. You can really hire a few thousand men with a hundred gold taels!”

“It’s this Young Missy’s own business to choose what she wants to do with her own money. ” Mu Wushuang retorted with a scathing glance thrown in Mu Yuwen’s direction.

That glance from those eyes felt like it was a cold icy sword to Mu Yuwen, sending a chill into his heart. But upon further thought, he remembered that the young woman was a well known good for nothing who could not possibly be capable of doing that to him, and he quickly shook off the strange feeling in his heart.

Seeing Mu Wushuang’s maid extravagantly give out such a big amount of gold again and again, to more than twenty people, two thousand gold taels disappeared in a blink, which pained his heart so badly. All that gold would be enough for him to splurge for a very long time!

The people around there were watching with hot fevered eyes as well. If they had known that Mu Wushuang was really that generous, they would have stepped up immediately when Mu Wushuang was asking around for people. What a pity that they missed such a good chance of earning all that money.

Mu Wushuang got Sang Lan to give out the money slowly. By the time Sang Lan finished, Mu Wushuang saw Yun Hao’s figure appear from around the corner down the street, and the ends of her lips lifted up slowly.

“Third Sis, can we go back now that you’re done?”

Mu Yuwen asked with a note of impatience in his voice. Every moment that they have not moved all the gold back to the Hou Manor, his heart could not be set at ease.

“You can go back first if you’re in a hurry.” Mu Wushuang then said to him.

Mu Yuwen’s eyes lit up. “Then I’ll get them to bring all the gold back immediately!”

“Why do you need to bring these gold back? I’ve already spoken to Manager Li from the Scarlet Cloud Hall about it, and the money will be deposited into the banks under the Scarlet Cloud Hall’s banner. Little Fourth Brother, if you’re in a hurry to go back, you can leave first. There is no need for you to wait for us.”

Mu Wushuang said with a big smile on her face, as she watched the faces of Mu Yuwen and the Second Prince change in shade, and her smile deepened further.
