Chapter 110.2: Just A Step Ahead
Suddenly, Mu Wushuang felt pain shoot through her finger which caused her to gasp in surprise. A cut stretching over half her finger opened, and blood gushed out from it.
That was a little strange. There was clearly nothing sharp on the egg and the wound on her finger seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
The bright red blood dripped onto the egg, and a golden light shone from the crack. Immediately after that, the mountains and the ground shook, and the palatial ruins a short distance away suddenly collapsed into rubble! The ground she was standing on then started to break and fall apart!
“Oh no! The lost ruins are collapsing earlier than it’s supposed to!”
There was no time to think and Mu Wushuang quickly pulled the little Chinese Parasol tree out with its roots intact, and transferred it together with the phoenix egg straight into her dimensional space, to let her two artifact spirits water the soil in the dimensional space with water from the spirit spring.
She then quickly turned around to go back the way she came.
At the large stone door where she had come in from, there was no sign of the Imperial Uncle and the little green dragon anymore.
She was able to walk right out through the door, as there wasn’t any barrier array to stop her.
The collapse was still continuing inside, and she had just taken one step out when the stone door disappeared completely in a puff, without leaving a single trace of it having ever been there.
After coming out from the lost ancient ruins, all the illusory arrays have disappeared along with it. The sheer stone cliff wall was no longer there, but just a pile of collapsed rubble of rock.
Even if anyone were to come investigate, it would be impossible for them to find any clues as to what had happened here.
However, the collapse had caused such a huge stir that it was safe to assume it would not be long before someone would come.
Mu Wushuang did not know where the Imperial Uncle had gone and wondered whether he had gone inside the lost ancient ruins to look for her.
Just as worry was creeping into her heart, the figure of Long Yi suddenly popped up before her eyes.
At that same moment, the jade manual she kept within her robes started to glow.
That was a communication jade manual, where once it was linked to another jade manual, they would be able to exchange messages.
Mu Wushuang quickly opened it up, and it was the voice of the Imperial Uncle with some words he left for her.
“Happened to encounter an enemy that this Prince needs to annihilate. Shuang Er need not miss me, we’ll meet back in the Capital City.”
His voice was low and magnetic like always, especially the words “Shuang Er need not miss me”, which sounded so tender and earnest.
“Who would miss you! ?”
Mu Wushuang scoffed in a soft voice to herself.
But she was not stupid. For the sake of her safety, the Imperial Uncle had even gone on to assume another person’s identity, so he would not suddenly leave her here unless it was highly critical. The situation must have been especially dangerous to make him need to leave ahead of time, and he even sent Long Yi who was supposed to protect Mu Yuheng to her side.
