Chapter 109.3: Phoenix Egg
“Got it.”
She gave the Imperial Uncle’s face one more glance, and then turned around to walk away.
She did not want all of them to remain in such a dangerous place, so she must find the phoenix egg as soon as possible.
“People from the ancient phoenix tribe might possibly have hidden the egg in an underground chamber within the palace where it would be safer.” Little Vermillion suggested.
“Or it might be hidden in a mountain cave as phoenixes do not like dark and damp places.” Little Bird analysed further and said.
However, Mu Wushuang did not make her way to the palace nor did she go towards the mountain, but made her way to an empty clearing instead.
There were countless Chinese Parasol trees at that place, their trunks tall and straight, stretching so high they reached the clouds.
However, many of those Chinese Parasol trees had been cut down by people, with only their enormous tree stumps left, looking highly desolate and depressing.
Some of the Chinese Parasol trees that had not been cut down had long withered and died, their trunks hollowed out. But one could still make out how majestic and glorious these trees must have been in the past from the remaining tall and imposing tree trunks.
The soil was barren and infertile, completely lacking in nutrients. Even if any of the Chinese Parasol trees were not dead, it would not be able to survive.

The phoenix perch nowhere but on Chinese Parasol.
The Chinese Parasol has withered and died, so where would the phoenix perch?
Mu Wushuang was undeterred and did not want to give up. She just could not help feeling that this forest of Chinese Parasol trees were very important.
She searched around the place again and again. Not to mention a phoenix egg, she couldn’t even find a rock that was shaped like an egg.
“Is it really not here?”
Mu Wushuang’s brows furrowed slightly, her eyes becoming thoughtful.
“No! It’s definitely in this Chinese Parasol forest!”
Her upslanted eyes narrowed.
The phoenix tribe would definitely not cut down these Chinese Parasol trees, so this forest of Chinese Parasol trees were cut down by others. There wasn’t even a single branch left here, which told her that someone could have come here to look for the phoenix egg before. But with the forest completely destroyed like this, no one would even think of coming to look for it here again.
The most dangerous place was often also the safest place.
The phoenix egg must still be here in this forest of Chinese Parasol trees!
Could this be some trick of the eye?
She thought back about the illusory barrier that was used when she first came in here.
Most people would not think of using the same trick twice, so even if a person was able to come in here, they would probably not think that this was another illusion!
With that thought in mind, Mu Wushuang quickly scattered the array stones and set up an array.
Right at the moment that she put down the final array stone, a change happened right before her eyes.
A pristine jade green Chinese Parasol tree appeared before her, shining brightly with life among the desolate lost ruins.
“Heavens!”
Inside the dimensional space, the handsome looking twins, Little Bird and Little Vermillion clamped their hands over their mouth, the glint of tears shining in their eyes.
Here within these forgotten ancient grounds that had lain in ruin from times that no one remembered anymore, a strong and virile little tree was thriving upon the barren soil. All the other countless dead and withered trees had their roots stretching here to it, giving the small little Chinese Parasol tree every last bit of nutrients they had, to enable it to live.
While luscious green could be seen in abundance everywhere in the mountain range outside, it was bare and stark here in this place, but a miracle happened, rising up against such indomitable odds.
