Chapter 110.3: Just A Step Ahead
The Imperial Uncle had even tried to jest by asking her not to miss him, clearly an attempt to divert her attention, so that she would not worry for him.
An enemy of the Imperial Uncle would most probably not be someone from such a low level realm like this.
Could it be someone who had come from the higher level realms?
“Long Yi, is Yuheng alright?”
Mu Wushuang then turned to Long Yi to ask.
“Your subordinate has escorted Young Master Mu to the original campsite at the outer fringes and he is very safe there. May I ask that the Young Miss come with your subordinate so we can make our way back there quickly?”
Long Yi’s face was grave as he spoke.
“No need. I can make my way back myself. You know my capabilities well enough. You should go to the Imperial Uncle, where you can be another source of strength to him in his current situation.”
Mu Wushuang replied to Long Yi.
“Your subordinate’s duty is to protect the Young Miss. Moreover, your subordinate does not know where my Lord has gone to.”
So, even Long Yi did not know the Imperial Uncle’s whereabouts. Mu Wushuang then furrowed her brows and said: “Let’s go then.”
Upon saying that, the two of them skirted around the high level demon beasts as they made their way through the mountain range to leave.
Not long after the two of them left, a male and female couple came to spot that Mu Wushuang and Long Yi had just been.
“The lost ruins of the phoenix have collapsed! Elder brother, it looks like we came here a step too late.”
The young woman who spoke looked to be only about sixteen or seventeen, with pretty exquisite looks. She was clad in a thin cotton rose tinged smoky muslin dress, and when a breeze blew past, the light fabric would flutter, making her entire person give off a fairy like air, to look even more pretty and lovely.
A look of regret came into her eyes, and a vicious glint flashed for a very brief instant.
If Mu Wushuang had been there, she would definitely have been stunned with shock.
The young woman was able to call that place by its proper name the moment she opened her mouth and it just showed that her identity was extraordinary, and that she knew quite a lot about the place.
The guy was clad in a blue brocade robe, a khaki jade dragon patterned belt at his waist, his hair cloudy white at the temples, a strikingly tall and imposing figure.
But this person had eyes that were glittery cold and impassive, like everything was beneath his notice.
He looked down at the footprints at his feet, and he said with showing any emotion in his eyes.
“Maybe the phoenix egg has already been snatched away by someone.”
“How is that possible?” The young woman’s voice raised by a few octaves, and continued to say in an indignant tone.
“How can anyone in this tiny low level realm possibly know that this is the lost ruins of the phoenix? Even the elders from our Helian Clan had to pore through countless ancient texts before they found these lost ruins! Although news about it was accidentally leaked out and those scumbags from Heavenly Fox Tribe managed to steal the map, Father had personally tore a rip through the void in the first instance to send us here. We cannot possibly allow the Heavenly Fox Tribe to steal it from under our noses just a step ahead of us!”
