Chapter 117.1: She Is Able To Summon Demon Beasts
When Helian Yuan and his group got back to the city, they saw that the demon beasts had retreated from the city’s walls completely.
The terrain was in a wreck and badly battered dead demon beast bodies lay everywhere, the thick stench of blood hung heavily in the air.
“Gongsun Hai, I’ll give you till the end of today to locate all suspicious persons, and not a single one of them will be spared!”
Helian Yuan suspected that the beast tide that happened this time was caused by someone’s hand as the beast tide had receded too fast. Moreover, those demon beasts were all level six and below, and he did not see a single level seven demon beast among them at all, which made it rather strange and suspicious.
So he ordered Gongsun Hai to investigate it thoroughly, as there must be a clue left behind somewhere.
“Also have the city gates guarded and no one will be allowed in or out. All persons seeking entry must be locked up and thoroughly interrogated!”
Helian Yuan continued in an icy voice.
“Rest assured Young Master Helian that it will be done.”
Gongsun Hai replied.
They were within the East Dawn Country’s domain here and this city was under the Martial God Sect’s area of influence. Within their own territory, Gongsun Hai was highly confident.
But in his heart, he felt that since that person was able to snatch the phoenix divine beast from under their noses, it showed that this person’s cultivation must be very high, so how could someone like that be hiding here in this city?
He had naturally silently kept those thoughts to himself as he went on to pass down the orders, to get the men to go look for any suspicious persons.
“Yiyang, why do you seem so distracted? Go accompany Young Miss Helian for a while. Since she’s not really in a good mood, you can bring her for a walk around the city.”
Gongsun Hai said to his grandson.
Gongsun Hai was a sharp eyed person and he could see that Young Miss Helian was a little interested in his grandson. With such a good chance before them, he would naturally not miss out on it.
Song Yiyang’s brows knitted up. Ever since this pair of Helian siblings showed up, his always stalwart and respectable grandfather had seemingly turned into a insignificant little serving boy, obeying their every command to suck up to those two, and had now even asked him to go keep that haughty and arrogant Young Missy against his own wish.
Although he was feeling indignant, he would not go against his grandfather, as what his grandfather was doing was all for the sake of the Martial God Sect’s future.
And that was the cruel truth. The once high and mighty Sect Leader of a major sect was no more significant than an ant before people from a great family clan from a higher level realm.
That was the difference between a low level continent and a high level one!
There was an enormous and unbridgeable chasm between them.
But asking him to go fawn upon that Young Miss Helian was not going to happen, as he had no feelings towards that woman at all, and his mind was filled only with thoughts of Mu Wushuang.
“Nevermind. You do not need to go if you do not want to. Leave the rest to Grandfather to deal with. But Yiyang, there is one thing that you have to promise Grandfather. If the Helian siblings are willing to take you to the Vast Sea Continent, you must not refuse.”
