Chapter 124.1: Heaven’s Pride Grand Meet

 

“The two of you had better not quarrel here. It’s giving me a headache.”

Mu Wushuang held her forehead, looking a little frail and weak, completely unbothered by the fact that the two siblings were fighting because of her, her face callous and unsympathetic.

Although her words did not sound exactly very polite, when Helian Yuan saw that weakened look on her face, the only thing his heart felt was pain for the young lady.

“Big Brother! Just look at her! That is just too impetuous! How can you possibly fall for a woman like that!”

Helian Duo was hopping mad as she pointed her finger at Mu Wushuang and screamed. She was not able to come to terms with how her elder brother was treating Mu Wushuang so differently, and she really could not stand that fearless and indifferent demeanor of the young woman.

“Miss Mu, since you’re not feeling well today, I shall not disturb you any further, and will come visit another time.”

Helian Yuan said, looking greatly concerned. After he asked to take his leave, he then dragged Helian Duo out together with him, thinking that he had really spoilt this younger sister of his rotten. It was so hard for him to find a woman he likes, but his younger sister was being so unreasonable and unruly, which caused Miss Mu to treat him so coldly.

As they have failed to find the divine beast, the date they were to return back had been brought forward, as their Father wanted them to go attend the annual Heaven’s Pride Grand Meet that was set to happen in three days. News that Gu Xinghai was maimed and turned into a useless cripple had become widely known, quickly falling from his first ranked position on the Heavenly Chart. Hence, everyone in the younger generation were all rubbing their fists in anticipation, seeking to win the top rank position during this year’s Heaven’s Pride Grand Meet.

Prodigious talents that many sects and clans have been secretly grooming were also waiting to take everyone by surprise, for them to shoot to fame during the Heaven’s Pride Grand Meet this time.

First position on the Heavenly Chart was not just merely a rank to one’s name, but brought the person unmatched glory and fame, and Helian Yuan’s father placed great hope on his son on this.

That was why he wanted to bring Mu Wushuang back with him. Even though she was already engaged, he did not mind it.

But Mu Wushuang did not seem to have any feelings for him. Moreover, his own sister had taken such a harsh tone with the young lady, which further diminished his chances of bringing the young lady back with him.

When they came to a place where there was no one else around, the expression on Helian Yuan’s face suddenly turned frigid.

Helian Duo shrank back in a cower. Every time her elder brother called her by her full name, it meant that he was very angry with her. But she was feeling highly indignant. That woman, Mu Wushuang was just a fickle and flirtatious woman, and she had merely wanted her elder brother to see Mu Wushuang for the kind of person she really was! She did not do anything wrong!

“Big Brother… Mu Wushuang is…..”

“Shut it! That is a woman my heart yearns for, and I will not allow you to speak ill of her.”

Helian Duo’s eyes immediately turned red. Her elder brother had actually admonished her so harshly for the sake of that woman.
