Chapter 128.2: Provocation
People have always said that the Flowing Sands City is a place that one can get into but never get out, all the people inside evil and vile, and anyone who goes in there will lose their lives.
Looks like reality was not like that here.
“We only kill off invaders and people with ill intentions. As long as a person who seeks to stay in the Flowing Sands City does not create any trouble, this City Lord Long does not care what he does.”

In the dimensional space, the two handsome artifact spirits suddenly called out to inform Mu Wuhsuang.
Mu Wushuang’s footsteps halted, and she turned around to ask Long Aotian.
“City Lord Long, do you have a spirit stone mine here?”
Long Aotian immediately replied: “So my Lord has already told the Lady Mistress about the spirit stone mine. Your subordinate was intending to bring the Lady Mistress to go see the spirit stone mine tomorrow. The mine is deep within the canyon and it was discovered just a short while ago.”
There really is one!
Mu Wushuang’s eyes lit up. These spirit stones will really come in handy. The little phoenix had just been mocking her for being broke and penniless, complaining that she did not possess any spirit stones to feed it, which made it hard for the divine beast to advance in level.
That was how she came to know that divine beasts eat spirit stones to advance in level, and that more spirit stones were required the higher the level went.
Divine beasts were favoured sentient beings born out of nature that exists in Heaven and Earth, and they did not need to undergo rigorous cultivation training like humans. They were born with innate powers, like they were blessed with enlightenment, and they only need to consume spirit stones to advance in level.
But of course, that doesn’t mean that they would be able to advance in levels endlessly with just spirit stones alone.
Divine beasts need to progress step by step, and their inherent powers will only be awoken with every level they attain.
Because of the lack of spirit stones, the poor little phoenix who was supposed to awaken its powers for the first time was left smacking its lips in vain, its powers remaining dormant.
And if she had spirit stones, she would be able to cultivate better. Compared to absorbing the impure spirit energy from the air from Heaven and Earth, the spirit energy spirit stones contained was pure and robust, yielding much better results for one’s cultivation.
Hence, bright and early the very next morning, Mu Wushuang got Long Aotian to bring her and Mu Yuheng to go have a look at the spirit stone mine.
The Canyon of Sin was a very deep canyon, with the Flowing Sands City sitting right at the exit, on terrain that was neither high nor low. The lower one went into the canyon, the stronger the wind would be, filled with swirling sands that blew so strongly a person would not be able to open their eyes.
