Chapter 14.2: Spend Money As You Please

 

“Your Highness, the key to the treasury has been brought.” A man who looked like a housekeeper came in and handed the key respectfully to Long Moshen.

Liu Jiaojiao’s brow twitched slightly, the hatred slowly disappearing from her eyes as the excitement in her heart became almost irrepressible. Is His Highness worried that she had taken quite a scare and was going to give her some compensation? The key to the treasury was something only the Lady of the house can hold in her hand!

Her face was filled with joy and anticipation as she looked at Long Moshen. Seeing him pick up the key, her heart thumped loudly.

But alas, with a loud clang, the key fell right before Mu Wushuang.

The smile on Liu Jiaojiao’s face turned stiff, as she stared at Long Moshen in disbelief. But Long Moshen’s gaze was not looking at anyone at all as he picked up the napkin to wipe the corners of his mouth impassively, his demeanor suave and highly elegant, icy like a glacial mountain, aloof and unapproachable, a man whose thoughts were unfathomable and impossible to predict.

What right did she have! ? She had lived here in the Prince’s palace for two years and had contributed so much! But he did not even bother to consider her feelings at all when he went on to feed her personal maid to the dogs before an outsider and was even handing the key to the treasury over to such a fat and ugly woman! Don’t tell her that she can’t even hold a candle to a good for nothing like Mu Wushuang?

Liu Jiaojiao was vomiting out blood inside her heart but she did not dare show the slightest sliver of dissatisfaction on her face. She has seen how brutal and ruthless the man could be and hence she did not dare to.

“Imperial Uncle, what are you giving me the key to the treasury for?” Mu Wushuang held up the key and asked in bewilderment.

“Spend money as you please.” The expression on Long Moshen’s face was impassively cold as ice, his voice low and deep.

But no matter how his tone sounded and what his face looked like, it must be known that, regardless whether it was in ancient or modern times, the words “spend money as you please” had a highly astounding effect on most women, seen as absolutely tyrannical!

She then recalled having asked the Imperial Uncle for a loan earlier, and the Imperial Uncle had merely muttered a short and curt “mm”. So that single “mm”, meant that he would hand the key to a mountain of gold and silver over to her.

“Thank you Imperial Uncle. I won’t stand on ceremony with you then.” Mu Wushuang kept the key away, a radiant smile beaming on her face.

Mu Yuheng stared at her unprincipled elder sister, and could not help but shake his head helplessly. 

“Brother cousin, what about letting Sister Wushuang stay with me? We can give each other some company in this way.”

Seeing that Long Moshen has finished eating and was about to leave, Liu Jiaojiao quickly stood up, and suggested in a soft demure voice.

“No need. She will stay in the Bright Pearl Pavilion.”

Bright Pearl Pavilion!

Liu Jiaojiao’s fingers clenched up tightly under her sleeves. He is really going to let Mu Wushuang stay in the Bright Pearl Pavilion! ? She had brought it up several times before but he has never once agreed. And he is now letting Mu Wushuang stay there the moment she arrived here! ?

He is even letting her stay in the Bright Pearl Pavilion!

Jealousy raged in her heart, but a gentle and generous hearted smile still showed on Liu Jiaojiao’s face. “Alright then. Brother cousin can rest assured that I will get people to tidy up the Bright Pearl Pavilion properly.”
