Chapter 15.1:Ten Times in Return For Anyone Who Trifles with Me

 

Long Moshen went to his study room, while Mu Wushuang followed the servants to the Bright Pearl Pavilion.

As Mu Yuheng was a male relative and was not part of the Imperial Family, he would naturally have to stay in the outer courtyard. Mu Wushuang had also wanted to stay in the outer courtyard with him and she had merely just brought up the topic when the Imperial Uncle’s face immediately became colder than eternal glacial ice. Nevermind, it’s the same no matter where she stays as it will only be for a short period anyway.

Upon reaching the Bright Pearl Pavilion, Mu Wushuang then whispered a silent “no wonder” to herself. No wonder Liu Jiaojiao’s face had looked so ugly upon hearing the Bright Pearl Pavilion being mentioned. It was because the Bright Pearl Pavilion was within the same courtyard as Bright View Court that Long Moshen lived in, the two places side by side, where people who reside in those two places would definitely come to meet each other one way or another.

Moreover, the Bright Pearl Pavilion was supposed to be the residence for the future lady of the house, so it was no wonder that Liu Jiaojiao was displeased when she heard it.

A little while after the servants who brought her here left, and a dark and skinny serving maid named Sang Lan came.

Mu Wushuang heard from the servant girl that she was a lowly third grade menial maid who washed and cleaned in the outer courtyard, and everyone else did not want to offend the lady cousin, so no one was willing to come here. But seeing that her salary would increase and her servant grade would be raised a level by coming here to serve Mu Wushuang, she quickly volunteered to come.

Mu Wushuang did not need many maids in the first place and so she was fine with just one serving her.

Mu Wushaung then asked in a bored tone: “Where did that lady cousin in this house come from?”

She remembers that the Imperial Uncle’s background and origins were shrouded in mystery, appearing in the world ten years ago and no one knew where he came from. This lady cousin also did not look like she was a real kin, looked so much like a seductive temptress, and was fake and pretentious.

“Responding to Young Miss, your servant heard that the lady cousin Liu Jiaojiao isn’t related to His Highness by blood. It was only because His Highness was accidentally poisoned two years ago and it happened that the lady cousin’s blood was able to help His Highness dispel the poison, so she was brought here into the Prince Regent’s palace. It was Liu Jiaojiao herself who claimed to people outside that she is one of the Prince Regent’s distant relatives and in reality, no one knows where she is from exactly.”

The servant Sang Lan’s face looked like she was ready to share some juicy gossip and she looked around to see that no one was around before she said in a low conspiratorial voice: “Your servant also heard people say that the lady cousin was actually from one of those houses of pleasure!”

Houses of pleasure?

Mu Wushuang was taken aback for a moment before it dawned on her that houses of pleasure mentioned actually meant places like brothels, and the way they were called sounded strangely artistic.

I’m just a little child! I do not know of these places you’re talking about!
