Chapter 21.2: Pitiful and Aggrieved
“Mistress, all the toxins accumulated in your body over many years have been expelled, and your clogged meridians have cleared and expanded by quite a bit. So, hurry up and try to draw spirit energy into your body and see!”
“That’s right. As your body is currently empty and still a blank slate, it will highly boost the body potential!”
The two of them then brought over a book about cultivation from the bookcases. They flipped the book open to its first page, and held it up before her eyes for her, thinking to let her begin cultivating immediately.
Mu Wushuang was rendered speechless. Aren’t these two fellas being a little too anxious and excited about this! ?
Her gaze turned onto the book, and a mystifying feeling suddenly ignited from deep in her heart, before it slowly began to spread out through her body. She closed her eyes, to properly feel and sense the spirit energy under the Heavens and here on earth. Suddenly, the specks of spirit energy in the air gathered around her, as they got absorbed into the meridians running through her body. She followed what she read in the book about how a person’s meridians ran in a person’s body, and diverted all of the spirit energy into her dantian that was about two inches above her navel.
However, right at that moment, the spirit energy was suddenly cut off!
Mu Wushuang opened her eyes, and then turned to ask Little Vermillion and Little Bird, seemingly in slight disappointment. “There’s only such a tiny bit of spirit energy in this dimensional space?”
The faces of Little Vermillion and Little Bird turned bright red and they hemmed and hawed before saying resolutely. “Mistress, we’re sorry. We have been too lax. We will most definitely tidy up the dimensional space good and proper, and bring the Vermillion Bird jade bracelet back to its former glory.”
Seeing the two of them looking so pitiful and aggrieved as they hung their heads apologetically, Mu Wushuang’s heart quickly softened into mush. The jade bracelet has not had a Master for so many years and the two of them had been placed in a deep sleep for countless millennia. Hence, she can’t really blame them for the lack of spirit energy here in this dimensional space, especially when the sight of the two handsome youths apologizing on the verge of tears had made her feel so guilty like she was viciously ruining two beautiful delicate flower blossoms with her own two hands.
“It’s alright. I can also cultivate outside, but I do not know if there is a lot of spirit energy out there.” Mu Wushuang said to the two young youths.
Little Vermillion then said sadly. “I’m sorry to tell the Mistress that we’ve detected that the spirit energy in the Nine Heavens Continent has been declining gradually and the spirit energy here has not been regenerating. It is thought that in just another few more decades, there won’t be a single sliver of spirit energy left here in the Nine Heavens Continent.”
Little Bird nodded his head in agreement. “Our guess is that someone has taken the heart of the continent away.”
“Doesn’t that also mean that a few more decades into the future, no one will be able to cultivate spirit energy in this place anymore, but just practice martial arts?” Mu Wushuang asked in surprise.
