Chapter 23.1: Kill a Chicken as a Warning to Monkeys
“You, you, you, you and you! Step out!”
Sang Lan pointed them out one by one.
With how the two women ended up being set as an example before them, they people pointed out did not dare to defy Sang Lan.
“SLAP!”
Sang Lan used every ounce of her strength to deliver a frightfully loud slap across a young serving maid’s cheek.
This particular serving maid was most vile and hateful. She stole from His Highness and pinned the blame onto her. She even instigated the others to bully her, that caused her to suffer all kinds of torment.
When that hard slap struck, Sang Lan felt all the pent up aggrievement dissipate out from her as she saw how that usually smug and arrogant serving maid did not dare to even look at her at all, a highly exhilarating and liberating feeling.
Going through that entire round of liberating slaps, though Sang Lan’s hand was hurting quite a bit, the sweet comfort in her heart was extremely soothing, and she could not feel any more grateful to Mu Wushuang.
After being slapped, those people still remained kneeling respectfully on the ground in subservience, not daring to show the slightest bit of anger or hatred on their faces no matter how strongly those feelings were.
Mu Wushuang smiled in contempt at them. These people who worshipped the strong and trampled on the weak have vileness steeped right into their bones. If they were not taught a minor lesson, they would not know their place.
“Someone go bring Uncle Fu to me.”
Mu Wushuang said.
“Yes, Young Miss. Your servant will do it right this instant!”
Once Uncle Fu came, Mu Wushuang pointed at about five or six of the servants who looked more honest and guileless and ordered in an icy voice: “The few of you will look after Young Master Mu’s needs under Uncle Fu. If Young Master Mu is not well taken care of, your fate will end up to be like those two women!”
Uncle Fu was already rather old, and Mu Wushuang could not bear seeing him tire himself out so much. Without Uncle Fu around to oversee things, her heart would not be at ease, so she could only get a few more servants to help the old man out.
The servants nodded their heads immediately, indicating that they would definitely take good care of Young Master Mu.
Mu Wushuang swung a cold icy glare over everyone there, and then stepped into her beautiful little brother’s yard.
The room arranged for Mu Yuheng in the Prince’s palace was quite a nice place, but seeing the thick layer of rotting leaves and dry grass on the ground, it could immediately be seen that someone was intentionally slacking off. She had not taken more than a few steps inside when she saw her beautiful looking little brother standing there under the roof eaves, a thick scatter of fallen snow collected on his thin shoulders. Makes one wonder how long he has been standing there.
