Chapter 32.3: The Second Uncle’s Family Outrageously Comes Knocking
“Greetings to His Highness. My name is Mu Ningwei, and the reason we came here today is to bring my Third Elder Sis and Fifth Elder Brother back home. They must have given the Prince’s palace quite a bit of trouble in staying here and our second branch family feels really bad about it. Third Elder Sis, I must say this. With the Hou Manor burnt down by that fire, the first people you should have thought of should have been us, your closest kin! What made you come running here to His Highness’ palace! ?”
Mu Ningwei’s voice was crisp and clear like a yellow oriole’s and she was pretty and adorable looking. Although she was only about twelve or thirteen, she was already rather well developed, her purple dress bringing out her youthful beauty even more.
However, her words made Mu Wushuang let out a cold scornful laugh.
Came here to bring her and her beautiful little brother home? And complaining that the second branch family were not the first people that came to mind when something happened to the Hou Manor? All of those words were accusing her of not adhering to decorum and propriety, unable to weigh her priorities properly and had disregarded their kinship, completely disparaging her in all manner of ways.
It was really laughable. She had met shameless people before, but never a whole family of them who can be so outrageously blatant about it.
She was just about to open her mouth to put them down when she heard the Imperial Uncle speak up.
“This Prince seems to remember that Mu Yuande and his family has already severed all ties with the country’s military Hou Manor.”
Mu Yuande’s face immediately went pale. He had been afraid that His Highness would bring that up and he quickly tried to say in explanation.
“Your Highness, it was because your humble official was instigated and deceived by my own vile daughter in our house and came to think that my father was working in cahoots with outsiders, leading us to make such a grave mistake. Now that even the Heavens is seen to be seeking redress for the injustice shown to my father, your humble official realizes that it is already too late for regrets, and is highly remorseful of my past actions. I immediately investigated into the matter when I went back, and discovered that it was all a plot contrived by my common born daughter and her maternal family to falsely accuse my father. This is the sinner’s letter of confession I have here. Your Highness, please have a look!!”
Mu Yuande pulled out a letter of confession that was badly stained with blood and wanted to give it to Long Moshen to take a look at it.
Long Moshen’s eyes were cold and frosty, his brows knitted up.
Mu Yuande immediately felt his heart pound and a chill run through him, suddenly remembering that Long Moshen hated physical contact with people the most, and the thing he was holding in his hands was a letter written out with someone’s blood.
At that moment, Mu Wushuang took the letter written in blood and swept her eyes quickly over it, and discovered that it was signed off by Lady Wen, birth mother of Mu Ningxuan, and Mu Yuande’s beloved spouse.
Mu Wushuang laughed aloud in scorn. Just as she thought. Upon hearing Mu Yuande claim that the fault laid in the maternal side of his family, she had immediately thought that he was pushing all the blame onto Mu Ningxuan and her birth mother. Afterall, Mu Ningxuan has already been killed by her and the dead would not be able to contest any claim he made.
“Where is Aunt Wen now?” Mu Wushuang asked coldly.
“That slut was unable to live with the crime she commited and has killed herself! It was she and her demon spawn Mu Ningxuan who viciously sought to drive a wedge between our close kinship, and their deaths will still not be able to pay for their crimes!” Lady Zhang said venomously.
Not enough to pay for their crimes? Shouldering the blame for your entire family and their deaths are not lamented in the least by their own family members? That’s really so sad and pitiful!
Although Lady Zhang’s tone was vicious and ruthless, there was a gleeful glint in the corners of her eyes. That’s right. Aunt Wen was Mu Yuande’s most favoured and beloved spouse who was doted on the most. Now that she was killed and made to shoulder the blame for them, Lady Zhang was naturally most pleased about it.
