Chapter 33.1: When One is Shameless, They’re Invincible

 

At that moment, Mu Ningxue took a step forward and said to Mu Wushuang in a soft gentle voice.

“Little Third Sis, it was all your eldest sister’s fault. I should not have believed Mu Ningxuan and her mother’s one sided accusation, and it very nearly cost you your life. Let your elder sister offer her most sincere apology to you here, and I hope you can forgive me for the unintentional mistake I made.”

Mu Wushuang almost died at that moment. Claiming that it was all just an “unintentional mistake”! ?

“That’s right Wushuang, whatsmore, you’ve hit your elder sister. Look at her cheek, the swelling has not subsided yet. Just treat it as a minor squabble between sisters and that kin should not bear grudges overnight, or we can discuss it further after we go home if it is still an issue. Your second aunt here has packed up a few rooms so that Yuheng and you can stay with us for now. After the Hou Manor’s repairs are done, we’ll all move back there together.”

Her second aunt Lady Zhang said persuasively.

Mu Wushuang scoffed in contempt.

“Minor squabble? Does Second Aunt think everything that happened back on the streets was just playing house? If the Imperial Uncle had not appeared at that moment, I would now just be a nameless body tossed into a mass grave. And Mu Ningxue, when you threatened me for the Tiger Talisman and wanted to force me to confess to a crime I did not commit, your face did not look like this. To whom are you trying to show that pitiful and aggrieved look on your face to here?”

“Third Sis, what do you mean? When did I ever threaten you? I know that you have been displeased with me over this incident, but I merely wanted you to go persuade Grandfather. Although I might have been a little too harsh with my words, but it was only because I was concerned about the Hou Manor’s reputation!” 

Mu Ningxue’s face contorted up in sorrow, hurt showing in her eyes, seemingly unable to believe that Mu Wushuang would say that about her.

So now it’s because she was concerned for the Hou Manor’s reputation…… All these people with their sweet honeyed tongues, flipping their words to turn black into white!

“Wushuang, how can you say that about your elder sister…..”

“Enough.” Mu Wushuang cut Lady Zhang off.

“Firstly, all of you have better get this clear. All of you from the second branch family are no longer part of the country’s military Hou Manor. It is known throughout the entire capital city that the second branch family has severed all ties with the Hou Manor and so, all of you would do well to not claim that we share any kind of kinship as that only makes me want to barf. Secondly, regarding the matter where Grandfather was falsely accused of being in cahoots with outsiders to betray the country, Imperial Uncle here will get people to investigate everything clearly. Who knows whether the whole lot of you here might have just found yourselves a convenient scapegoat to shoulder all the responsibility?”

Seeing that Mu Wushuang was adamantly refusing to go with them and spouting such hurtful words, Lady Zhang quickly broke into tears.

“Wushuang, how can you speak like that to us? Did you forget how you lost your parents when you were still so young, and it was your Second Aunt here who toiled and slaved to bring you up?”
