Chapter 39.1: Unfinished Product? Are You Pulling Our Legs?
At that same moment, after having observed the commotion, the two good looking men went downstairs, and got their subordinates to go get two VIP seats at the auction, as they slowly made their way towards the auction house.
“Steward Wang, you should probably be acquainted with the Scarlet Cloud Hall’s person in charge. Link up with them as I have something I would like to put up for auction.” Mu Wushuang said to Steward Wang.
Steward Wang was a little taken aback but he knew that there are things he should not question, so he merely nodded his head and replied: “Yes, your servant has a good friend who is the manager of the place. Let your servant bring you to go meet him right now. But as he is a person who sets quite a high standard for things that are brought to him, I beg for the Young Miss’ pardon if he happens to appear rude or impolite with his words later.”
The meaning those words implied was that the manager might not accept the things she wanted him to put up for auction.
“Naturally.”
The Scarlet Cloud Hall’s manager in charge was surnamed Li, and he was about the same age as Steward Wang, except that the man was extremely skinny, his facial features seemingly sunken and caved into his face, a shadow deeply etched around his eyes, a person who looked very gloomy and depressed.
There was also a small sized old man behind Manager Li, his beard snowy white, but his eyes were full of life. His surname was Sun, and he was the Elixir Refiner the Scarlet Cloud Hall kept under their employ.
Mu Wushuang knew that the auction was going to start in half an hour’s time and so right after Steward Wang made the initial introductions, Mu Wushuang candidly brought out the half finished elixirs she had cultivated, and said to the men.
“Manager Li, I would like to have these elixirs put up for auction.”
Manager Li glanced at the young girl in surprise, and then asked: “What kind of an elixir is it? And what grade is it?”
Old Sun had also craned his neck out to see, his face looking expectantly at the jade bottle in Mu Wushuang’s hand.
It must be known that the lowest grade elixir the auction house was willing to accept would have to be a grade five elixir at least, and they have put up higher grade elixirs for auction before as well. As an Elixir Refiner, he loved to appraise elixirs for the Scarlet Cloud Hall the most.
“They are unfinished grade one elixirs.” Mu Wushuang said calmly.
“What? !“
Manager Li and Old Sun cried out in unison, their faces incredulous and filled with utter disbelief as they stared at Mu Wushuang.
Old Sun then started to say: “Little Young Miss, bringing unfinished grade one unfinished elixirs to us and wanting us to put them up for auction, are you pulling our legs?”
Grade one elixirs are commonly found everywhere and the ones here are even unfinished. Their effects would be absolutely terrible and they usually end up being used as treats to feed spirit beasts by the rich. Even if she were to set up a stall in the streets and sell them cheap, no body would buy them from her.
For her to have brought something like that here to the Scarlet Cloud Hall for the auction, what was she trying to do if not to toy with them?
