Chapter 46.3: The Handsome Guy Being Highly Friendly

 

In the people’s eyes, Mu Wushuang was still the same fat and inept good for nothing afterall.

Spending nine million gold taels just to prove a point and to buy something she did not need at all. Only a good for nothing would be capable of such a thing.

Mu Wushuang did not care what people thought of her in the slightest. Her eyes were turned staring fixedly in the direction where that low raspy male voice had sounded from. She would really like to see if he was going to raise his bid further than that.

“Miss Mu Wushuang has placed a high bid of nine million gold taels for the Dimension Stone. Is there a higher bid than that?”

Manager Li’s voice resonated throughout the hall from his position on the stage.

There was only silence from the direction of that male voice earlier.

“Nine million gold taels going once!”

“Nine million gold taels going twice!”

“Calling nine million gold taels….. three times!”

“Thud thud thud!” 

“Congratulations to Miss Mu Wushuang for having won the Dimension Stone with her bid of nine million gold taels.”

Three strikes of the hammer and the ends of Mu Wushuang’s lips lifted slightly. Pish posh, how can you fight me?

The next few items put up for auction did not really interest Mu Wushuang much, but that man with that low raspy voice succeeded in winning an item. It was also some kind of material used for forging artifacts which made it seem like the man was probably an Artifact Specialist.

But Mu Wushuang was not really interested in the man and she just waited for the auction to end. Including the two million gold taels from the good looking red clothed guy, she tallied up her sums and saw that she had several hundred thousand gold taels left. She called out to halt the red clothed guy and gave him the money to partially repay the debt she owed him. 

“Money is immaterial and since I chose to give it to you as a gift, I have never once considered asking for it back. Miss Wushuang, I will not be taking this money but if you really insist on giving it back, why not you give me something as a gift to commemorate our meeting today instead? I think that jade pendant is rather nice.”

Song Yiyang said with a mischievous smile as he pointed his finger at something a distance away.

Mu Wushuang turned her eyes to follow the direction his finger was pointing at. It was a very common low leveled artifact made to look like a jade pendant, a defensive type artifact, its price costing just a few thousand taels.

But she was able to see right through the man’s thoughts. People in ancient times have always liked to use jade pendants as a form of token that symbolized their love for each other. Is he asking her to give him a token as a symbol of love?

Although he was the type of man that she liked very much, as looking at that countenance with that level of beauty, she would be able to eat a couple more bowls of rice everyday. But she did not know the man well at all, not even his name, so how could she possibly give him a love token just like that! ?

Moreover, Mu Wushuang still remembers the phoenix jade pendant the Imperial Uncle had placed around her neck. It was impossible to decipher the Imperial Uncle’s thoughts. When he was putting the jade pendant on her, she had not seen a single sliver of affection for her in his eyes, but that was probably still meant to be a token of love for her. She thought that it wouldn’t really be nice for her to be giving a jade pendant to another man now as Steward Wang and Yun Hao were also watching with their eyes peeled right beside her at that moment.
