Chapter 56.2: All Beasts Submit, The Phoenix Reigns
The people out there did not know whether Mu Wushuang had really summoned up those spirit beasts back then, but he knew it very well. He knew with absolute certainty that Mu Wushuang was indeed the one and only Spirit Beast Summoner in this world.
Hence, Grand Master Yun Zhen was silently hinting that Mu Wushuang was born under the Star of the Phoenix, destined to be the Mother of the world.
He was the Dragon son of Heaven, and Mu Wushuang was born under the Star of the Phoenix. When he first heard about it, he had wanted to kill her, to break her destiny. Afterall, how could the position as his Empress possibly be assumed by a useless good for nothing like her?
But unexpectedly, the Crown Prince of the East Dawn Country, Song Yiyang actually came to propose a marriage alliance with the Moon Howl Dynasty, and the marriage partner they asked for was Mu Wushuang. He had ostensibly agreed to it on the surface, and even went on to hold an Imperial Banquet for the man, but in reality he just wanted to see Mu Wushuang’s real person. If she was as hateful and detestable as the rumours said, then he would secretly have her killed without anyone knowing, as her destiny prophesied by the star she was born under dictated that she could not possibly marry any other man.
Never had he expected that she would exceed any expectations he had for her.
But thinking about it again, as cold and heartless as the Imperial Uncle was as a person, he would never protect a dull woman who did not hold his interest.
Ximen Sheng was hoping that the Imperial Uncle had really come to develop feelings for Mu Wushuang, so that he would be able to snatch her right out of that man’s hands.
Any normal woman would not fall for a cripple would they?
He really wanted to see the Imperial Uncle being denied what he yearned for.
Ximen Sheng licked his lips and his mouth twisted up into a cold cruel smile.

The palace maid Miao Si did not reappear. Mu Wushuang summoned up her deviant flame to dry her clothes and retraced her steps back to return to the grand hall.
The entire banquet hall was extremely quiet, and Mu Wushuang immediately spotted the Imperial Uncle. He was seated up on the raised pedestal, clad in a dark black robe, a man who stood out over the rest of the people, almost like there was a glow shining over him, which made him extremely easy to spot.
Even though it felt as if the Imperial Uncle had a cold icy frost swirling around him, his person like a mountain of ice, many young ladies of marriageable age were still secretly stealing glances in his direction.
It was as if he had a sensor on her. She had just walked up to the doors and spotted the Imperial Uncle when she immediately saw him casting his gaze her way, a torrential surge rolling in those amber eyes, a frightful whirling storm within.
Mu Wushuang blinked her eyes innocently. He had reminded her not to wander off before he left, but she had vanished from there in the blink of an eye, so he must be furious. But she cannot be blamed for it right? Who knew what the Empress and her people really had up their sleeves?
She strode with wide steps over to him, and sat down obediently beside him. She even poured him a cup of tea. “Imperial Uncle, have some tea.”
At that moment, almost every single pair of eyes inside that vast banquet hall were focused on Mu Wushuang.
“Is that really Mu Wushuang?”
“How come she lost so much weight?”
“Heavens! That is Mu Wushuang! ? Are you sure it’s the same person?”
Many people were looking at Mu Wushuang with shock and surprise on their faces.
“Hmph! Just because she lost a little bit of weight and she thinks that she is able to seduce the Prince Regent? She doesn’t know her place at all! Can’t she see all that flab on her! ?”
“I dare to bet that the Prince Regent will definitely not drink the tea she poured!”
Several ladies said sarcastically, their faces filled with contempt.
