Chapter 58.3: Looking for This Prince’s Fiancee In Regards to What
Fortunately she had her own dimensional space or she might have to go back on her word this time. Who would have known that they would meet each other here in the Imperial Palace today?
She pulled a small jade bottle out of her sleeves and presented it to Song Yiyang. “You will definitely like this present.”
Her eyes subconsciously glanced over at the Imperial Uncle. Just as expected, his face looked highly displeased once again.
But it was the good looking man who had come to look for her of his own accord and it was not as if she had taken the initiative to approach him, so she did not feel guilty at all.
Song Yiyang took the jade bottle and carefully kept it inside his clothes like it was a highly prized treasure, not opening the present up there and then. After he was satisfied the present was safe and securely kept, he then flashed her a dazzling smile before saying: “As long as it is a gift from Miss Wushuang, this Crown Prince will definitely like it.”
Though those words sounded a little flirtatious, but coming out from Song Yiyang’s mouth, they did not make people feel uncomfortable in the slightest, and even sounded rather pleasant.
Mu Wushuang smiled till her eyes had turned into two crescent arcs.
“Miss Wushuang, the Emperor has summoned for your presence.”
At that moment, an old eunuch who had been at Ximen Sheng’s side came over, and said to Mu Wushuang respectfully.
What does the Emperor want with her?
Mu Wushuang’s brows furrowed up. She hated Ximen Sheng very much. She had felt an intense dislike for him the moment she saw him for the first time, and especially after she knew that Ximen Sheng was a vicious and venomous hearted person who loved to employ underhanded means to achieve his objectives. The reason the Hou Manor had fallen into a charred and ruined state had also been caused by the hand of Ximen Sheng as well.
She just did not understand why he would cook up that old play, “Chance Encounter in the Imperial Garden” earlier and could not fathom what he really had planned up his sleeve.
“What is it regarding that the Emperor is looking for this Prince’s fiancee?”
Just as Mu Wushuang was going to follow the eunuch over to the Emperor’s side, Long Moshen suddenly spoke. His face was icy cold as he stared at the old eunuch, his gaze electrifying, like he would have the person’s head the moment he did not like what he heard.
“Res….. Responding to the Prince Regent. His Majesty wants to speak with Miss Wushuang about the matter where Old Lord Hou’s name was smeared, and intends to make it up to the Hou Manor.”
The old eunuch tried to portray a look of composure as he spoke, but his hands were already wet with sweat in guilt. That was because he had dealt with Long Moshen a good number of times in the past and he was still scared to death of the man. That fear had been etched deep into his bones and he would never ever be able to shake himself free from it.
At the same time, the eunuch was immensely surprised. There had been rumours swirling around that Long Moshen had acknowledged Mu Wushuang to be his bride to be, but everyone had merely taken it to be a joke, no one seriously believing a single word of it. Never had he ever thought that Long Moshen would candidly proclaim that Mu Wushuang was his bride to be here at the Imperial Banquet!
Song Yiyang’s long slanted eyes arched up a brow, his gaze fixed upon Long Moshen. What a smart Long Moshen! To have established your rights over your territories like this. How sly and crafty of you! But this Crown Prince will not fall for such petty tricks. As long as you and Mu Wushuang are not wed, this Crown Prince’s heart is set on stealing her from you!
