Chapter 67.2: Oh My Heavens!
“Mu Yuheng! Don’t you dare!”
The Second Prince lost his composure as he screamed out at Mu Yuheng.
“Your Highness the Second Prince, it’s a duel to the death, and only one will live. These are the rules, so why would I not dare to?”
Mu Yuheng’s voice had just trailed off when he exerted strength into his foot.
“Don’t kill me…..”
The young lordling felt fear creep into his heart as he was faced with impending death, his entire body trembling uncontrollably.
“You’re worse than a beast, and….. not fit to live.”
Mu Yuheng’s face was expressionless as a sharp crack sounded, the young lordling’s neck broken under his foot, with all the words begging for mercy forever stuck in the young lordling’s throat, life seeping out of his body.
The Second Prince had not thought that Mu Yuheng would really dare to take his son’s life, and he flew into a rage, to roar loudly.
“You….. You shall die for this! ! This Prince will have you torn to shreds! Guards! Guards! Have Mu Yuheng killed right this instant!”
“Your Highness!” Mu Wushuang stepped forward to wave a piece of parchment in her hand, her loud clear voice resounding.
“This duel to the death was agreed and sealed between Mu Yuheng and the Young Lordling themselves. With the letter of challenge in my hand, clearly sealed with both their palm prints on it, no one has the right to break the rules of this duel here! Not even Your Highness, as the Second Prince, can do that!”
Song Yiyang then stood forward to add: “That’s right. A duel to the death can only conclude when one dies. The Young Lordling’s skills were inferior and lost, hence his death was certain. Is Your Highness trying to break Heaven’s rules here?”
The Second Prince bristled with rage, the flabby flesh on his face turning a steely green as the fury stewing inside almost blew smoke out through his ears. He could very well kill Mu Wushuang and her younger brother right here on the spot, but he was unable to do anything with Song Yiyang. Song Yiyang was the Crown Prince of the East Dawn Country and as the Emperor intended to improve relations with the East Dawn Country, he really could not afford to offend the man here.
Damn you, Song Yiyang! Why did you come here today! ?
“Your Highness, the dust has settled and it’s better to not create any trouble. You might as well collect your son’s corpse.”
At that moment, the Grand Teacher Yun Zhen looked at the stage and stood up, his voice light and airy as smoke.
The Second Prince was overcome with rage. He had invited the Grand Teacher here for him to witness his son’s moment of glory as the Grand Teacher was highly respected by many, and it made him look good being able to get the Grand Teacher to grace the event. However, never had he ever expected that the Grand Teacher he had invited here would actually say something like asking him to collect his son’s dead lifeless body!
The problem lay in the how greatly favoured the Grand Teacher was by the Emperor, so the words he said carried a great deal of weight, so he had no choice but to comply!
The Second Prince really almost felt like he was going to vomit blood.
Mu Wushuang’s brows furrowed. To think that Grandmaster Yun Zhen whom rumours say was extremely high and lofty with things that had nothing to do with him would bother to say those words. That was really so strange!
