Chapter 73.1: Who is Scheming Against Who

The Second Prince’s brows were a straight line and his eyes seething with rage as he stared at the pair of siblings.

That tongue of Mu Wushuang’s was venomous, and every sentence that came out of her mouth put him in an increasingly difficult situation.

And standing just beside her, Mu Yuheng who had killed his son was clad in white robes, his countenance handsome as jade. After undergoing such tumultuous ups and downs, the air around the youth had grown a lot more steady. He stood there without saying a single word, looking like a dragon among men. If he had not fallen into decline halfway through, his future would have been inestimably boundless.

Looking over to see his beloved son, he was just lying in his coffin lifelessly, without leaving a single heir.

What right did that pair of siblings have to still be living! ? Just the sight of the two of them was enough to make the Second Prince feel an urge to cut them up with his own two hands.

He really did not want the situation to drag on any further and he went on to say fiercely: “Even if this Prince has to sell off all my shops and houses, I will get you your money. Take this two million gold taels back first, and this Prince will personally deliver the rest of the money to the Hou Manor in a couple of days!”

“Oh?” Mu Wushuang curved up the corners of her lips in an indiscernible smile.

Rage rose up inside the Second Prince. “Do you doubt this Prince’s words?”

Mu Wushuang smiled and replied: “Your HIghness is a man of his word and I would naturally believe it. Moreover, with so many of our people in the city bearing witness here today, I do not think that Your Highness would resort to trickery like those thugs in the market, but a deadline has to be set at least. Why not we have Your Highness tell me here now, at the very latest, how many more days would you take to repay the rest of the money back to me?”

The Second Prince almost felt the blood surge up inside his throat. Mu Wushuang had actually compared him to those lowly thugs in the market!

“Three days at most!” The Second Prince spat out sharply through tightly clenched teeth.

I’ll send you two siblings over to the netherworld today! You want money? Go get it from Hades himself!

“Three days?” Mu Wushuang nodded and then pulled out a piece of paper from within her robes. She took out a brush and filled in the characters for three days onto it as she commented.

“This young lady here just knew that the Second Prince would not be able to take out such a large sum of money immediately. Fortunately, I came prepared and helped Your Highness write out a promissory note, so Your Highness would just have to imprint your palm mark here. We’ll leave once we have your palm print.”

A metallic taste came into the Second Prince’s mouth and he almost vomited out blood. But he heard Mu Wushuang say that they would leave once they got his palm print. And the moment they leave would be the moment they would walk right into the ambush he had set up. Hence, he did not hesitate but just gave the promissory note a fleeting glance before he bit through the skin on his thumb and pressed his thumbprint onto the paper.

Mu Wushuang smiled radiantly and gingerly picked up the promissory note stated clearly in black and white with her little pinky raised up, her eyes seemingly disgusted by someone’s dirty blood on it, before she quickly handed the note over to Sang Lan.
