Chapter 73.2: Who is Scheming Against Who

When the Second Prince saw that, his rage boiled up so much he almost exploded.

“Since you’ve gotten the promissory note, leave this Prince’s premises right this instant and do not come hinder people from paying their last respects to my son.” The Second Prince said malevolently.

“By all reason, this Young Miss and Yuheng should go in to pay our last respects to the young lordling as well. Maybe we should go offer incense before we leave.” Mu Wushuang said in response. She was naturally able to see that the Second Prince just could not wait to be rid of her and her younger brother at once and she said that intentionally, wanting to disgust the Second Prince to death.

Just as she expected, the Second Prince was greatly enraged, but he suppressed it and did not fly into a tirade but just said it was not convenient to let them go inside.

Mu Wushuang’s eyes glinted and the corners of her lips lifted. She knew that the Second Prince had malevolent intentions towards them and seeing that he did not do anything in retaliation even when he was being humiliated like that, it was clear to see that he had something else up his sleeve.

But when had she ever been afraid?

“Since it’s not convenient, then we shall not disturb Your Highness any longer. Your Highness must not forget to deliver the remaining sum of money back to the Hou Manor within three days.”

Mu Wushuang said in reminder, and made like she was going to leave.

The Second Prince laughed scornfully inside to himself, thinking that she could go ask for the money from Hades, but said with his mouth: “That is a matter of course. Even if this Prince has to sell everything single possession, the money will be repaid.”

Right at that moment, men from the Hou Manor arrived. It was the Second Aunt’s son, Mu Yuwen, who had brought several tens of servants, fully intending to carry the crates of gold back.

Now, it seemed like the second branch family was not afraid of offending the Second Prince anymore. Mu Wushuang scoffed contemptuously to herself in her heart.

Afterall, it was two million gold taels, an amount that the second branch family had never encountered before throughout their lives, and for such a sum of money, they were not afraid of being offensive to the Second Prince anymore.

When Mu Yuwen saw how much gold there was, his mouth fell wide agape, completely forgetting to close it, his eyes glued to the glittery gold.

In his eyes, all that gold belonged to them, the second branch family. Images of him splurging extravagantly were already flashing through his mind, his mouth smiling so wide he was unable to hide it, and he just could not be bothered to give anyone a single glance but fixed his eyes unwaveringly upon the fifty crates of gold.

“Since the Hou Manor’s people have arrived, hurry up and take all the gold away right now.”

The Second Prince said sharply.

“Sure sure sure. We’ll carry it back right away. Right this instant.” Mu Yuwen said with a laugh, and then barked sternly: “What are all of you waiting for? Hurry up and bring the gold back to the Hou Manor already!”

“Hold it. When did I ever say that I want to bring the gold back to the Hou Manor?”

Right in that instant, Mu Wushuang suddenly stood forward.

The Second Prince who was just about to make his way back inside his palace suddenly froze in his tracks.
