Chapter 75.2: Best That Your Eminence Here is Satisfied
To have such a highly skilled expert delivering himself right to her door, it would be a waste to not make good use of him.
This man must at least be at the Spirit Reverend level and above, an existence as rare as a unicorn here in the Howling Moon Dynasty. If she was able to make use of him for her own ends, she would not have to fear the Second Prince’s secret sabotage.
The man’s eyes narrowed dangerously, and the ends of his lips then slowly raised up, to reveal a roguish smile.
“You’re the first person that dared to spout such words before this eminent person, the first who dares to threaten me, and also the first to order me around. Seeing that you are the first in so many things, your Eminence here will not take your life.”
Mu Wushuang smiled back at him. “That lethal poison you are afflicted with, can only be purged by this Young Miss here and nobody else. If you dare to take my life, your life will not be spared either. This Young Miss does not believe that you can bear to give up your precious life so easily.”
The man threw his head back and laughed, his adam’s apple at his throat prominent and well defined. He did not sound angry at all but proceeded to say: “You’re right about that. This eminent person’s life is very much more important than yours. What do you seek? Let your Eminence here hear you out.”
“Now you’ve got it. A smart person knows what’s good for them. Be good and do as you’re told, and this Young Miss will then not only give you the antidote, I will also pay you accordingly.”
Mu Wushuang said smilingly, throwing out both stick and carrot, and not blushing in the slightest from her actions.
She took out one antidote pill, and stuffed it into the man’s mouth.
“The antidote consists of three pills. You will just have to ensure my younger brother and I remain safe and sound for three days and I will give you the rest of the antidote after that. Is that agreeable?”
The pill slid smoothly down his throat and the medicine’s effects flowed throughout his entire body. His weakened body and sluggish metabolism recovered very quickly and his spirit energy was restored. A lingering warmth from the young woman’s fingers remained on his lips and the man’s blue eyes seemed to deepen.
“Agreed.” He said while still leaning lazily against the wall of the carriage, the air of superiority and aloofness he exuded showing undisguised, like he did not care what kind of poison he had been afflicted with, or whether that woman would really give him the antidote at all. The corners of his lips then lifted as he asked with interest.
“Woman, regarding the recompense you were talking about?”
“Rest assured that this Young Miss has always been a very generous person. After the deed is done, I will definitely give you something good as a gift.”
Hearing her say that, the man’s still and placid heart suddenly rose with a sliver of anticipation. He leaned in close to her and said right by her ear.
“You’d better make sure this eminent person will be satisfied. Otherwise…..”
He did not finish the rest of his sentence, but Mu Wushuang could detect the threat in his tone. This man was really strange. HIs life was still held in her hands and he still dared to spew such arrogant words.
