Chapter 84.2: Purging the Poison for the Imperial Uncle
“Imperial Uncle, we’ve reached the Hou Manor. Do you want to come in to sit for awhile?”
“Alright.” Long Moshen nodded his head slightly.
The little green dragon who was hidden in invisibility rolled its eyes. His Master’s “alright” sounded so aloof and indifferent, but he had actually been longing to hear those words from that woman! Upon hearing her invite him to go inside the Hou Manor, his heart must have been overjoyed!
A banquet was ongoing in the main yard in front. When her Second Uncle had said he wanted it to be a grand affair to celebrate him taking in a concubine, he had really meant it. The front courtyard was bustling with activity, and it seemed like there was quite a good number of tables hosted.
Knowing that the Imperial Uncle did not like places with many people, they went in from a side door, to enter her courtyard directly.
“Respects….. Respects to Your Highness!”
When Sang Lan saw the Prince Regent, her mouth fell wide agape, as she had never expected the Prince Regent to suddenly appear in Mu Wushuang’s courtyard.
But Mu Yuheng did not even glance at Long Moshen at all, but immediately went over to his sister and looked at her from head to toe, checking whether she had been injured in anyway from her trip to the Imperial Palace, or had suffered any aggrievement.
“I am fine. And it’s all due to the Imperial Uncle.”
She did not want to tell her beautiful little brother about how the Emperor had tried to poison her, afraid that in a moment of hotheadedness, he would do something rash. Anyway, she was completely fine, so there was nothing to tell, as it would only make the youth more worried for her.
Hence, she only told him about how the Imperial Uncle helped her.
“I really have the Imperial Uncle to thank after everything that happened to me today.”
After Mu Yuheng heard that, he thanked Long Moshen in a sincere tone. He had to separate his own feelings from this matter. Although he felt that Long Moshen was not suitable to become his brother in law, without Long Moshen’s help today, his sister would have been placed in danger in the Imperial Palace today. So it was only natural that he should thank the man properly.
“It is only logical that this Prince would help his own future bride.” Long Moshen said in an indifferent voice.
Mu Yuheng thought to himself. Without any blessing given by their parents nor any word written in a formal betrothal, how did my elder sis become your future bride? !
However, seeing that he played a part in keeping his sister safe today, he did not speak his thoughts out aloud.
“All of you are dismissed. This Prince wants to speak to Shuang Er alone.”
Mu Yuheng was speechless.
And so was Sang Lan.
The little green dragon screamed out silently in its mind: How can you treat your future young brother in law like that! ? Can’t you see that he doesn’t like you very much? You will only lose that brother in law by doing this!
In the end, Mu Yuheng and Sang Lan still retreated out of the place.
Mu Wushuang did not mind, as she had something she wanted to talk to the Imperial Uncle about.
She personally prepared a pot of tea, as the two of them sat under a magnolia tree, and she went straight to the point as she said.
“Imperial Uncle, can I check your pulse for a moment?”
Long Moshen glanced up at her for a moment and after a few breaths, he nodded his head without a word.
Mu Wushuang smiled and quickly scrambled over to sit beside him, before holding the man’s wrist to check his pulse.
His hand felt cold, his fingers long and beautifully slender, definitely a sight to behold for people with a fetish for hands.
