Chapter 90.1: Tenderness Only For One’s Beloved
“Old Master, Madam isn’t properly dressed and Xin Er can see that many people are pointing their fingers at Madam. For the sake of the Hou Manor’s reputation, maybe you should ask Madam to go freshen herself up a little first.”
Xin Er said softly to Mu Yuande, her voice filled with worry and concern for the Hou Manor.
Xin Er could clearly see through Lady Wang’s intentions. Her mission in coming to the Hou Manor was to make sure there is no peace in the Hou Manor, and that Lady Wang and the others in the branch family would not enjoy a single day of family harmony.
She was here to further stir the already muddy waters here in the Hou Manor.
Hence, she was finding joy in heaping more pain and suffering onto Lady Wang, determined to go against the woman and stopping Lady Wang from getting exactly what she wanted.
Mu Yuande turned to gaze upon Lady Wang. Lady Wang was a sore and wretched sight to behold, looking like a mad woman. His brows immediately knitted up.
“Lady Wang!”
Lady Wang jumped in fright from Mu Yuande’s sudden shout, immediately spotting that taunting smile on Xin Er’s lips as she leaned submissively in Mu Yuande’s embrace, completely unlike the demure and obedient woman she had portrayed all this time. Lady Wang immediately knew at that moment that that wily vixen was just putting on an act!
“Old Master, step away from her. I am going to beat this vile hussy to death here today. How dare she try to make me a joke…..”
“Smack!”
A clear crisp sound rang out, and silence fell around them. Everyone turned their eyes to look at Mu Yuande and Lady Wang.
They saw Lady Wang holding her cheek with her hands with a look of incredulity on her face. Mu Yuande was seemingly all puffed up in rage while Xin Er hid herself in terror behind his back while tears streamed down her face, looking heart wrenchingly pitiful.
Hey hey! A great show is about to start!
It was clear to see that the scene before them was one where the first wife wanted to bully the concubine, and was taught a lesson by her own husband, the man of the house.
Anyone could see without just one look that Lady Wang was a highly feisty woman, standing out here in public not properly dressed, looking nothing like what a proper lady of a distinguished family should be like, a pale comparison to the neat and tidily groomed concubine there.
“Old Master! You actually struck me!” Lady Wang just could not believe what just happened. Mu Yuande had never raised a hand against her before, but he actually just struck her all because of that wily vixen!
“Father!” Mu Ningxue was stunned in shock for a moment. Her father actually hit her mother out in public! What will outsiders come to think! ?
Mu Yuande immediately regretted it the moment his hand landed. Lady Wang was afterall his lawfully wedded first wife and he should not make her lose face before so many people out here in public.
But as a man, he could not very well apologize to her before all these people, so he merely harrumphed coldly and turned around to go into the Hou Manor.
“Mu Yuande, you cannot walk away just like that. You’d better make your stand clear here today! If you do not clear things up right now, no one will be able to have any peace living in this house!”
Lady Wang hastened forward to catch up with the man, demanding that Mu Yuande make a clear stand! Mu Ningxue had no choice but to follow behind her mother.
