Chapter 91.3: Executing Family Rules
“Grandfather, you’ve come back?”
Mu wushuang stood up, a wide smile on her face as she asked the old man standing behind Mu Ningwei.
The old man’s hair was white at the temple, a trace left by the harsh vestiges of time’s passing. He stood tall and imposing, his countenance stern and striking. His brows were creased up at that moment, and the look on his face was dark.
Mu Guobang was originally feeling rather happy, having seen his grandson Yuheng at the Hou Manor’s front doors and found that he had regained his cultivation. He was also able to talk again and his grandson told him that his sister Wushuang had become much more sensible, no longer rash with her actions, and was also able to practice cultivation as well after her clogged meridians got cleared. The old man could not be any happier hearing the news.
However, when he went over to the branch family’s side, he heard Lady Wang screaming incessantly like a fishmonger’s wife out in the street. Not wanting to get frustrated by the scene, he walked away from there and came over to Mu Wushuang’s courtyard, never expecting that he would hear his sixth granddaughter, Mu Ningwei berating Wushuang, sounding worse than her mother, Lady Wang!
Never had he ever imagined that the sixth granddaughter he always thought was sensible and obedient was all just an act. After he was gone, that girl had shown her true colours and he really wondered just how much aggrievement Wushuang had suffered throughout the time he was not around.
“Grand….. Grandfather…..”
Mu Ningwei stiffly turned her head around, wanting to explain herself. “Grandfather, I was merely kidding with Third Sis here.”
“I have heard words like that so many times. Am I supposed to believe that Younger Sixth Sis was joking with my sister every single time?” Behind Mu Guobang, the chilly cold voice of Mu Yuheng sounded.
“I was really just kidding. Third Sis, don’t you agree?” Mu Ningwei turned to look at Mu Wushuang. She had already told the young lady that she would help her get the Prince Regent’s legs cured, so the young lady would definitely help her out here with Grandfather.
Who knew that Mu Wushuang would just back away from her and said in a weak voice: “Let it be whatever the Younger Sixth Sis says it is.”
From the stance Mu Wushuang took, it immediately looked like she had suffered quite a bit from Mu Ningwei’s bullying.
“Enough! Mu Ningwei, you cannot bully your Third Sis like that! Go to the ancestral hall and receive your punishment under our family clan’s rules! Thirty lashes! Mu Ping, go execute the punishment!”
Mu Guobang shouted angrily.
“No! Grandfather, I did not bully Third Sis!” Mu Ningwei was in shock. All her life, she had never been punished under their family rules before! How is she going to face people from now on?
Though thirty lashes might sound like it wasn’t much, but the person executing the punishment was Grandfather’s personal bodyguard, Mu Ping. He was a person whose cultivation had reached the Spirit King level and thirty lashes by his hand would be enough to peel off a layer of her skin!
“Come with me, Sixth Young Miss.”
Mu Ping spoke in an emotionless voice. When he saw that Mu Ningwei did not move, he showed no hesitation even though he might be overstepping certain boundaries and went to catch hold of Mu Ningwei’s arm, to drag her to the ancestral hall to receive her punishment!
“No! Grandfather! Mu Wushuang is putting on an act!”
Mu Ningwei’s aggrieved scream trailed off.
