Chapter 98.2: Relentless Shadow
There was nothing Mu Yuheng could do. He wouldn’t be able to win the guy in a fight, so all he could do was to stand in the middle to block him off.
But his stature was smaller than Lin Yu’s, so it didn’t seem to have much of an effect with him standing between them, as he was not able to block off the guy’s watchful eye.

Because the paper for talismans were yellow, people who used talismans thought that only red coloured cinnabars were orthodox, and would give them better effects. They thought that using cinnabars of a yellow shade would be too similar to the paper and the effects of the talisman would be weakened because of that.
But that was not true. The minute amount of energy the golden cinnabars carried made it most suited for drawing talismans and tens of thousand years ago, golden cinnabars were something that money could not buy.
Now, people were using golden cinnabars as pigment for painting.
“Young lady, you like to paint? This golden cinnabar ore is a superior grade sandstone. I’ll let the young lady have it for just a hundred silver taels.”
When the shopkeeper saw that it was a young lady, he immediately raised the price by several dozen silver taels before offering it to the young lady with a wide beaming smile.
“This sandstone’s colour is indeed rather pretty. Does the shopkeeper have more of the same in stock?”
Mu Wushuang asked in a nonchalant tone.
“There’s still several more pieces. Will the young lady take them all?” The shopkeeper’s eyes shone brightly.
“Bring them out and let me take a look at them first.”
Meaning that she won’t want them if they aren’t good.
“Sure.”
In moments, the shopkeeper brought out several pieces of the golden cinnabar ore, and they all seemed to be about the same quality. At least the shopkeeper had not been deceitful on this.
“So how much will they be in total?”
“Since the young lady is buying them all, I can give you a discount on them. I’ll round it down to a total of four hundred silver taels. Will that do?”
When the shopkeeper saw that the young lady was so easygoing, he just pushed the price up to a hundred silver taels apiece, thinking that even if she tried to slash the price, there would still be room for profit.
“Four hundred taels is too expensive. Sandstone like these only cost just slightly over ten taels apiece back home. Third Sis, don’t buy from this dishonest merchant.”
Mu Ningwei suddenly came running in, and said while pulling at Mu Wushuang to leave.
Four hundred taels just to buy a few pieces of worthless rocks, she would very much rather Mu Wushuang use that money to buy some pretty accessories for her instead. This Elder Third Sis of hers is really such a wasteful spendthrift!
